History of Illinois
Illinois is the home of three past presidents and one former president. Illinois is the home of Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Ronald Reagan, and Barack Obama. President Lincoln was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois which is the Capital of Illinois. There is a museum in Springfield, IL for Abraham Lincoln called The Lincoln Presidential Library. There is also a little village in Springfield where President Lincolns house is called Lincoln Home National Historic Site.
There are a lot of tourist attractions in the state of Illinois. John Deere Commons, which is a building that has different John Deere tractors in it, starting with the John Deere Plow. John Deere invented the first Steel Plow which was very helpful to farmers because dirt didn't stick to the blade nearly as much as a normal plow. The John Deere Commons is located in Moline, IL, and is a very interesting place to visit. The Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, is a very popular Zoo and houses over 450 different species of animals on a 216 acre property. Wrigley Field, which was built in 1914, is the the Chicago Cubs Baseball Stadium, is a historical Baseball Stadium and has a lot of background. The Sears Tower, which is the second largest building in the United States and is the eighth largest building in the world, is located in Chicago. You can also come to the City of Chicago and watch the Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Whitesox, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Chicago Sting. Soldier Field, which is the Chicago Bears Football Stadium, is neat place to visit even if you can't go inside of it atleast you can you see what it looks like from the outside and know that an NFL (National Football Team) plays in that stadium, and know that the stadium was donated to the men and women of the armed forces. The Shedd Aquarium is an Aquarium in Chicago that holds more than 8,000 Aquatic Animals and is the worlds largest indoor Aquarium. The Shedd Aquarium is a very interesting place to visit especially in Chicago. Michigan Avenue is great place to be if you're a big shopper, there are many different stores and outlets in Michigan Avenue.
There are many different things to do and places to visit in the State of Illinois that can be a lot of fun and are very interesting places to visit. Illinois has a lot of history in it and is the home of four United States Presidents. Illinois also has a lot of attractions and Historical Sites that are very interesting and is a lot of fun for the whole family!
The weather in Illinois is usually the same as any Midwest State, but in Chicago it usually rains a lot in the summer, but it's normally really nice in Illinois.
