An e-newsletter from Mounds View Public Schools
Winter weather reminders
With extreme cold and snow predicted over the next week, the District’s winter weather reminders have moved to the front page of school websites and can also be found at www.moundsviewschools.org/winterweather.
Parents should assume all schools are open unless they see or hear differently. Phone, text and website updates will only occur if a decision has been made to close schools. The District is monitoring temperatures and wind chills with updates from the National Weather Service - Twin Cities. Throughout the District, schools have done the following to prepare for the extreme cold.
Outdoor recess will be cancelled if air temperatures reach 0 degrees and/or windchills reach 10 degrees below zero.
Buses have been scheduled to leave earlier from the depot to run as close to the regularly scheduled times as possible. NOTE: On winter days when the metro-area traffic is significantly congested because of poor road conditions, parents should expect most school buses will be similarly delayed. Notification calls will be made as possible. Families can also check the status of a bus by clicking on the bus status icon within the District app or visiting www.moundsviewschools.org/busstatus.
Parents and guardians always have the choice to keep their child at home if they are concerned about sending their child to school because of weather conditions.
