Infection Control

Faithful citizenship is key. We expect our families to take personal responsibility for the common good as well as their own safety. We rely on parents to keep children home when they are sick. Sometimes it is hard to tell in the morning if a child is truly ill or just having a hard time waking up. Please err on the side of caution during this time. Children should not come to school if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

It is important that you contact your doctor and follow the advice of a trained medical professional before returning to school. Please do not administer fever-reducing, cough, or stomach settling medicine and send sick students to school. While it may be an unexpected inconvenience for you in the morning, we believe this is a much better alternative than having to close the entire school because of an outbreak. You are instrumental in helping us to control COVID-19. Please let your employer know of our policy in advance. We need your cooperation now more than ever.

Thank you to those families who were extra cautious this week!! Your support means the world to us!

September: Faith

Romans 1:17 For in it is revealed the righteousness of God from faith to faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous by faith will live.”

CCC 1814 Faith is the theological virtue by which we believe in God and believe all that he has said and revealed to us, and that Holy Church proposes for our belief because he is truth itself. By faith "man freely commits his entire self to God." For this reason, the believer seeks to know and do God's will. "The righteous shall live by faith." Living faith "work[s] through charity."

FAMILY SERVICE/PRAYER OPPORTUNITY: Work together at home to create a prayer table or prayer corner and take a picture of your family using this prayer space. Send the photo to and she will post it to our Facebook Page :)!

This agreement must be signed and returned before children are allowed to return to in-person learning. Please email us a signed copy or return to the office in-person Thank you. The form is attached underneath this textbox.

Dear Parents and Guardians of St. Bede School,

We are sincerely looking forward to welcoming back our students for the 2020/21 school year! As you know, we are implementing a number of procedures this year to maximize the safety of our students and employees. We are following the Reopening Plan of the Archdiocese of Chicago, which integrates all health and safety guidance of the Centers for Disease Control, the Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Chicago Department of Public Health. We believe that in-person instruction is essential for the growth of each child, and our plan provides for ongoing safety and illness prevention.

It is important that all parents, guardians, and students clearly understand our safety procedures and agree to follow them. While we have confidence in our plan, it is essential that we all work hard to keep each other safe and healthy. To this end, I encourage you to read the enclosed “Agreement to Adhere to COVID Protocols and Acknowledgement of Parental Responsibilities.” If you are planning to return your child for in-person instruction this year, you are asked to sign this form and return it by Monday, August 17, 2020, in person or via email.

If you are planning to participate in full virtual learning and have not yet informed us of your intention, I encourage you to contact the school’s main office as soon as possible.

Please contact me if you have any questions about this form. Once again, I look forward to seeing your child back in our school this fall.

Peace and joy,

Kari Rybarczyk
