Have No Fear! Health Heros Will Be Here!
It is our pleasure to offer on-site flu vaccinations to Wayland Union Students/Staff this year on the day of September 26th 2019. Flu clinics will be offered at each school location during school hours. Health Heroes flu vaccination clinics are completely voluntary and are offered to ALL consented students, regardless of their insurance coverage.
Why get a flu vaccine?
The best way to minimize or avoid the spread of flu is to get an annual flu vaccination. Each year the vaccine protects against new strains, therefore, the vaccine should be administered annually.
- Who is Health Heroes, Inc.?
At Health Heroes, we specialize in on-site vaccination clinics. Vaccines are provided at NO COST to students, parents, schools or local/state government. We bill both Medicaid and private insurance; however, we never bill students or parents for any out-of-pocket expenses or deductibles. Qualifying uninsured students can be given the vaccine, free of charge. Although student participation is voluntary, these vaccinations are recommended to help keep schools healthy and cut down on high absenteeism. Anyone over 18 must have insurance that qualifies to be vaccinated.
- What type vaccines will be given?
We offer the Fluzone (Injection). All vaccines given are preservative-free, mercury-free, Thimerosal-free and administered by state-licensed nurses.
What do you need to do to participate?
If you wish for your child to participate, please COMPLETELY fill out and sign a consent form. (See below). These forms need to be returned to your child’s school prior to the clinic date to secure a dose for your child. Hard copy forms will also be distributed at the schools.
For further information please visit our website https://www.healthherousa.com/
If you have additional questions, please contact Health Heroes at 334-558-5446.
We hope to see your student at our clinic!
Thank you,

Morning Drop Off And Afternoon Pick Up..... What YOU Need To Know
Drop off and pick up times are a schools busiest time. With buses coming and going, cars buzzing around, and students out and about its also one of the most dangerous times. We care about your child's safety. Please read the following tips for drop off and pick up times. If we all work together, we can make this a quick, smooth and most importantly safe process for all.
MORNING DROP OFF:
- Student drop off starts at 8:45am. No students are allowed to be dropped off earlier for any reason. We do not provide before school childcare. If you are in need of before school care, Kids First Daycare in Dorr is an option and provides busing to the school.
- If you are dropping your child off please use the SOUTH parking lot. The South circle drive is to be used by parents wishing to "drop and go". We recently painted the curbs to identify the drop off areas. As you are dropping your child off please pull ahead to the furthest point so cars behind do not have to try and pass you to pull to a spot. When cars are passing each other it creates an unsafe environment for students crossing. Please DO NOT park in the circle drive. If you wish to walk your child into the building, you may do so by parking in the lot and walking in.
- SCHOOL STARTS AT 8:50AM If you arrive after 8:50am you must check in at the office and your child is considered "tardy". Any child entering the building after 8:50am MUST be accompanied by and signed in at the office by an adult. Students are not able to sign themselves in.
AFTERNOON PICK UP:
- Our school day ends at 3:50pm. Any student getting picked up before 3:20pm will acquire a half day absence. Any student getting picked up between 3:20pm and 3:50pm will acquire a tardy. PLEASE NOTE: If your child is going to an appointment, please get an excuse slip from the doctor and send it to school with your child the next day. Your child's absence/tardy can be excused with an excuse slip from your doctor.
- We understand that there may be a need to change your child's pick up routine. If you need to pick your student up, please send a note with them to the teacher. If that is not possible please call or e-mail the office BEFORE 3:30PM. We cannot guarantee message delivery after that time.
- ALL BUS CHANGES MUST BE CALLED INTO THE BUS GARAGE AND THE SCHOOL. Failure to call the bus garage with the bus change may result in your child not being able to ride the bus that day.
- Parents who are picking students up should line up at the SOUTH PARKING LOT DOORS. Doors will be opened at 3:50pm. Parents will NOT be permitted to enter the pick up area through the office and will be asked to line up in front of the south parking lot doors. Proceed to the table to sign your child out. Once you have your child please exit the building to keep a constant flow.
- FOR SAFETY OF YOUR STUDENT PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PULL THEIR STUDENTS OFF THE BUS FOR ANY REASON. PARENTS THAT ENTER THE BUS LOOP AREA WILL BE ASKED TO CHECK IN AT THE OFFICE.
