Worthington Kilbourne Weekly News
Week of October 18, 2021
We have wrapped up the first quarter of the 2021-22 school year. The grading deadline for teachers to enter grades is this Wednesday. That will allow us to post them and determine eligibility by Thursday. If you have any questions about the grades or expectations, please reach out to your student's teacher(s).
Additionally, in our previous newsletter we mentioned the behavior some students are displaying. To bring heightened awareness to the issues some students are facing, we are communicating it again. We have increased our attention to the student conduct associated with our restrooms and we are monitoring students that are going in and out of them multiple times throughout the day. We have concerns that the behaviors could violate our Student Code of Conduct. Please refer to our previous newsletter for information and resources related to vaping and the effects related to it.
Sincerely,
Aric Thomas, Principal / athomas@wscloud.org / 614-450-6400

Guidelines from the Health Office: When to keep a student home from school
As we return to a normal schedule with all students attending school daily it is extremely important NOT to send your student to school if they are sick and not feeling well. A daily health check is required for parents and students to complete each morning prior to school.
Daily Home COVID-19 "Before School" Screening

PreACT will be offered at WKHS to sophomores and juniors
The PreACT will be offered at Worthington Kilbourne High School to sophomores and juniors, beginning at 7:45 a.m. on Monday, November 8th, in the Main Gym. Check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m.
Students can register for the PreACT from October 1st through October 22nd by signing in to your MyPaymentsPlus account; go to ACTIVITIES to pay the $16 fee and complete the form! Testing will be limited to 200 students.
PreACT simulates the ACT testing experience by providing students early exposure to ACT test-quality questions and predictive score ranges on the familiar 1-36 scale. This helps students get comfortable with the testing experience and understand how they’re doing in core subjects.
PreACT helps identify:
- How a student is doing with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in college and beyond
- Areas where extra help or additional courses are needed
- Career possibilities that match the student’s interests
