DVC Interviews for Coop in Boston
DVC students, grade 12, went to Boston today and five students were interviewed for a job at Operations Services Division. They showcased their visual design work. Vanessa Pressatt, Joseph Nee, William Mulligan, Christina Aime, and Catherine Sullivan.
Freshmen Exploratory
Drafting students were making bedroom models this week in Mr. McGrath's class. All students were engaged. Hailey Getchell's model is to the right. Hailey told me she loves doing this type of work!
Engineering
From the desk of Dr. Meyers: The Mechanical Engineering Project based on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). This is 1 of 5 machines that must integrate seamlessly using the six simple machines, made from junk to produce a larger working machine (Rube Goldberg) completing a predetermined task designed by Dr. Meyers. Skills USA Goes to AVTE Presentation Today
SkillsUSA students traveled to Boston today with adviser, Mr. Robert Foley to attend the Alliance Vocational Technical Education presentation today. Governor Charlies Baker and his Workforce Skills Cabinet talked about the importance of vocational education. There were many dignitaries, students, principals, business owners and superintendents there today. HVAC&R Program Update
Mr. Geoghegan said that responding to their programs advisory board's recommendation the HVAC&R Program is now (National Oilheat Research Alliance) NORA certified. This means they can now offer students and continuing education students the opportunity to be NORA bronze certified. The NORA certifcation is a national certification and prerequisite for some states such as Vermont and New Hampshire oil heating license. Boys Basketball Update
Athletic Director, Mr. Catabia said the team is heading on track to make the MIAA State Tournament this season. The boys defeated Tri County on Wednesday evening and congratulations to Coach Gearty for compiling his 150th win. Great job to the Boys Basketball Team.
