The Second Sunday of Advent
Our Motto: Teaching the Mind...Nourishing the Soul
Theme for the Year - Goodness
At St. Joseph Catholic School, we are striving to become missionary disciples, recognizing the goodness of God in our lives and in the world around us, each and every day.
Our Mission and Vision Statements
Mission:
St. Joseph Catholic School provides students with a safe and prayerful learning environment, enveloped by an intimate community of active and faithful families.
Vision:
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fort Worth are committed to opening the doors so that our students can reach further than the walls that would otherwise enclose them and therefore are able to recognize and cherish the eternal and transcendental goods of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.
From the Principal
Happy second week of Advent!
In this Sunday's readings, we are told to "prepare the way of the Lord, make straight His paths" by John the Baptist. This is the message and challenge we are to keep in our hearts as we move through the Advent Season. It is a challenge to focus on this message with the enormous list of things we all need to accomplish before Christmas Day is here. We must remember to ask ourselves what is most important in these upcoming days, checking off items from our lists or preparing our hearts to receive the Lord at Christmas?
The Lord has done great things for us. We can honor His gifts in how we receive Him at Christmas.
In Christ's service,
Diane Price, M.Ed.L.

Goodness Bible Verse for December
new saintly quote to ponder
I have often thought with wonder of the great goodness of God; and my soul has rejoiced in the contemplation of His great magnificence and mercy. May He be blessed for ever! For I see clearly that He has not omitted to reward me, even in this life, for every one of my good desires. - St. Teresa of Avila
