Last Day of School- Wednesday, May 26th
Wednesday, May 26th is our last day of school. This day will be a typical remote day consisting of Go Live! sessions from 8:00-11:30. The schedule is below:
Wednesday, May 26th Bell Schedule:
- 1st Period 8:00-8:20
- 2nd Period 8:24-8:43
- 3rd Period 8:47-9:07
- 4th Period 9:11- 9:30
- 5th Period 9:34-9:54
- 6th Period 9:58 -10:18
- 7th Period 10:22-10:42
- 8th Period 10:46-11:06
- 9th Period 11:10-11:30
Murphy 2020-2021 Yearbooks
The yearbooks have arrived! Yearbooks will be distributed Monday, May 24 during first period. We do have some available to purchase for $32. These will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Remote students can pick up their yearbooks outside the main office on Monday, May 24 from 4:00-6:00 PM. We will offer a drive-up to pick up those yearbooks. If you did not purchase a yearbook and would like to, we will have the extra yearbooks available on Monday from 4:00-6:00pm for purchase as well.

Materials Drop-Off/Chromebook Pick-Up
If you still need to pick up your 1:1 Chromebook device, provided by the district, we will also be able to offer this time slot to pick up that device. Please come prepared with your old district Chromebook (if you have one) and student ID so we can provide you with your new device, needed for next school year. This also applies to any 8th grader who has not picked up their device for HS.
Students are able to keep their devices over the summer and be prepared with them starting next school year.

Current 6th and 7th Grade Back-Up Elective Choices
Current 6th and 7th graders were asked this week to fill out the form below to pick back up options for their electives for the 21/22 school year. This was completed during their ELA class, if your student did not complete this please click the link below. They may only fill it out one time and must be logged in with their student email to fill it out. Students were emailed a copy of their 21/22 course requests on Wednesday 5/5 if they are unsure of the choices they made in January.
Murphy PTO- OEHS Class of 2025 T-shirt
Murphy PTO is working with a local vendor to again offer an OEHS Class of 2025 t-shirt. We want to celebrate our graduating 8th graders! Ordering and paying is very easy. Just fill out the order form using the link below, make your payment online and our volunteers will make a contact-free delivery to your house. The cost of the t-shirt is $15 (which includes a $1 service fee). Orders are due Friday May 21, 2021. We will send order updates out via our Facebook page (Murphy PTO- Home of the Mavericks). 2021 Murphy PTO Scholarship Application- Submissions Due Monday, May 24th
The Murphy Junior High PTO is pleased to announce the establishment of a scholarship fund for Oswego East High School seniors who attended Murphy Junior High. To be eligible, you must have completed your 8 th grade year at Murphy and be attending an accredited institution of higher learning. We will be awarding two $500 scholarships (one male/one female). You may use a second sheet of paper if needed.

Murphy Makerspace!
If you are willing to donate any items to the Makerspace, we'd really appreciate it! Items such Legos, K'nex, small/medium covered storage bins, Play-doh, marbles, supplies for marble runs, etc. are a great start. We are open to ideas and any donated items that could make this space a great addition to our building.

Health Office Updates
Attention Parents of 6th Grade Students
A dental exam is required for all 6th grade students. An exam dated between 11/15/2019 to the current date will meet this requirement. Please fax (630-608-5191) or email (gjaskula@sd308.org) a completed dental form to the Nurse Gia. If you have any questions, please contact her at 630-608-5102.

During overwhelming times in our life, especially now, it is important to find ways to relax and cope. The Virtual Calming Room is a place for students, parents, and staff to find tools and strategies for managing emotions and feelings. Take a deep breath and find some calm and peace.

Student Absences
If your student is absent, you must call the attendance line (630-608-5101) to report the absence and absence reason. Please feel free to have your student email teachers directly for missed homework. To find contact information for teachers, please use the staff list here: Teacher Directory. Your student can also check their Google Classroom(s) for missed assignments and reach out to teachers for further clarification regarding assignments, homework, or activities.
The Maverick Way Outside of School
Murphy Junior High students are doing amazing things in the classroom as well as demonstrating “The Maverick Way” outside of school.
