Principal's Message

Nation Ford Families,

I hope it has been a great week for you. This email has a lot of important information since we are getting close to the end of the semester.

  • The semester exams for all students will be on Dec. 20th (1st and 2nd blocks) and Dec. 21st (3rd and 4th blocks). The 20th will be a full day and the 21st will be a half day. The school day will end at 12:10.
  • Seniors can exempt exams if they meet the following requirements -
    • Have an 80 or higher average
    • Have no more than 2 unexcused absences (and 2 Parent Notes)
    • Have not been assigned to ISS or OSS
  • For exams, all students should take their exams on the assigned exam days. We do not permit early exams for any reason.
  • Please remember that attendance does count. Students cannot miss more than 5 unexcused days per class.
  • We have a lot of great student organizations that are working to help the community. Please see below for opportunities to help!

Lastly, I want to welcome Ms. Trina McFadden back to the Nation Ford Family. Ms. McFadden is joining our admin team as an Assistant Principal. Her primary focus areas are Instruction and Curriculum. She also supervises the science department and the guidance counselors. She was a science teacher at Nation Ford before moving to Maryland to be an assistant principal. We are excited to have her back!

I hope you have a great weekend!

Thank you!

Chris Chandler

Nation Ford Angel Tree

Can you help a Nation Ford Family?

Angel Tree ornaments are up on the tree in the Commons. Angel Tree gifts benefit families right here at Nation Ford.

If you would like to help, ask your student to grab one to see what gift to buy. Please have the gifts back by Monday, Dec. 12.

When you return the gift, it can be wrapped with the tag ornament attached on the outside so we know which family. If you return the gift unwrapped, we have LOTS of wrapping paper in Guidance.

Thank you for helping our Nation Ford Families!

National Honor Society Clothing Drive

We are collecting new or lightly used clothing in order to keep families in need warm this winter. We would be extremely grateful for jackets, sweatshirts, long pants, and other winter clothing, but all clothing that you can donate will be appreciated. Bring in any donations to your second block class, and members of National Honor Society will collect the clothing during flex. At the end of flex on Friday, which is the last day of the Clothing Drive, the donations from each second block will be weighed, and the second block class that brought in the most clothes will earn a donut party!
