Algebra

  • Algebra 1 is a high school class which counts for high school credit and GPA.
  • A student’s grade will remain with him or her for the next four years and could be a factor as students strive to enter the competitive college.
  • Once students take the mid semester exams they cannot withdraw from the class.

Technology

  • Everyday bring Macbook, charger, and ear buds
  • Any technology issues the learners need to let iWest educators know. We will put in a help ticket.
  • Blackboard lessons and assignments
  • Notes, videos, formative assessments online.
  • Poll Everywhere, Socratives,
  • Real life activities in class

GRADING

We follow the CHS, since this is a high school level course.


Summative - Unit Tests and Major Projects ​60%​​​

Quizzes and smaller projects​​​​25%​​ ​​

Daily assignments​​ ​​ ​15%


Reassessment

  • You may only reassess on Summative grades - tests and major projects
  • You may reassess Summative scores less than 70%
  • Learners must attend tutorials to reassess

CIL Monday & Tuesday Morning: 7:00 - 7:30 am
Thursday Afternoon: 3:30 - 4:00pm
