March 15 PBL Collaboration Meeting
As we prepare for four teams to deliver instruction through the Project Based Learning model, I would like to address a few topics. Anyone is welcome to attend. The first session will be Next Friday, March 15 at 7:20 in the MPR. We will be discussing PBL and our special area classes. All special area teachers are encouraged to attend. I would like to discuss how we can use your expertise in projects to enhance learning as well as get your take on some lessons learned that we all need to discuss.
Future sessions will involve how to design a PBL boot camp and how to structure academic time.
Earth Day 2019
I am excited to share with you the plans for Earth Day 2019! This year we will focus on two things: reducing our footprint on the environment and promoting safe exercise habits. The activities will include promoting students to walk or ride their bike to school (more details will be coming) and a bike rodeo during lunch. We are currently working with the Blue Ash and Montgomery Police Departments to coordinate efforts.
We need your help! The Earth Day Committee wants to select a logo. Please take a minute to click HERE and vote on your favorite submission.
JEAN WEEK NEXT WEEK
Join me next week as we cruise into Spring Break with a Jean Week!
Staffing Update
I want to share another teacher who will be leaving us at the end of this school year. Jimmy McLean has been accepted into the University of Texas doctorate program. He will be selling his home and moving to Austin. We are going to miss Jimmy. I have to admire his passion to take a chance and chase his dream! Good luck, Jimmy. We will be following your success from afar.
The 5-12 band program is also adjusting staffing assignments based on the strengths of the teachers. Abby Hinson will be going to the JH and we will get Jordan VonWahlde and Ryan Lamb.
March Licensure Meeting is Tuesday, March 12. Please put any final portfolios and/or new IPDPs in my mailbox by Monday, March 11th. Thanks! Andrea Dorko

High AIMS is seeking a diverse group of engaging presenters as we Amplify Impact! at our 6th Annual Summer Institute hosted by the Fairfield City Schools on August 1-2, 2019. This year, our consortium of 30 public school districts in southwest Ohio is planning for 2000+ energized adult learners who are eager to expand their knowledge base and enhance their pedagogy by exploring innovative practices, focusing on school culture, examining instructional models and technology tools, and deepening their understanding of PK-12 learners. Proposals will be accepted through April 5, 2019.
This year's theme is Amplify Impact and Summer Institute is all about exploring avenues that can take our students' learning experiences to the next level. We are excited to have Hall Davidson and Ron Clark as our keynote presenters.
