It was such a yucky week of illnesses. I had 4-5 kids absent everyday last week. NOOOOOO! I hope we are all over it and ready to finish this last week strong.
A huge thank you to Ella's mom for coming and teaching us all about Hanukkah. We learned the traditions, ate jelly donuts and played the dreidel game. Thank you so much for coming and sharing with us!
We were so lucky to get to hear the Shadow Ridge choir come and sing holiday songs. We also got to enjoy the first graders caroling through our hallways. It was very fun!
We have a week of nice weather ahead so I think outdoor recess will help us with the wiggles as the excitement builds.
Remember there is no spelling this week. I am going to try and show them the BFG movie now that we have completed the novel. We may a little over a few days and try and complete it during the early release day on Friday. I like to show the newer, more realistic one but it is rated PG. If you have any objections or concerns about this please let me know. There is a cartoon G version, it just isn't as good a quality as the newer one. I will accommodate whatever is best in your eyes.
Have a great week and see you all at the party!

WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
Language Arts-We are still in our drama unit. We have read many reader's theaters and even learned about pantomime and the famous Marcel Marceau. We have written some sweet to letters to our families as well. They are finishing up their holiday book clubs and competing their book reports.
