Report Student Harassment/Bullying

Did you know we have an electronic form on our website to report student harassment or bullying? If your child has been experiencing harassment or bullying, please fill out the form to make a report. You can find a "Report Student Harassment/Bullying" link on our website under the Parents heading. The report will go directly to the district's DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) Coordinator, Mr. Elliott Butt. Once reviewed, Mr. Butt will coordinate an investigation into the matter. With your help, we hope to continue to fight against bullying and create a welcoming environment for all students in Gananda Central School District.

Parent Volunteer Registration Form

We are excited to reinstate Parent Volunteers in our schools! If you are interested in volunteering for school events, athletics, classroom activities, or as a school helper in the cafeteria, library, or the school offices at any point during the school year, please complete the Parent Volunteer Registration Form. You can also find this form on our website under the Parents heading. It takes approximately three weeks for approval to volunteer due to the background checks and board approval process necessary for access to our school buildings during the day. We look forward to working with you in the coming weeks!

Should they stay or should they go? (when to keep your child home from school/when they will be sent home from school)

Keeping our students, staff, and community healthy

Presently there are many respiratory and gastrointestinal viruses circulating. Please help keep our school communities as healthy as possible by following these recommendations if your child is not feeling well. Please consult your healthcare provider if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s symptoms or if their symptoms persist. Please reinforce proper hand hygiene and cough etiquette with your child.

If your child has any of these symptoms:

Fever (100.0° Fahrenheit or higher), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea:

● Stay home until 24 hours after symptoms resolve AND fever free for 24 hours

without fever reducing medication.

● A covid antigen test is not required but recommended before returning to school.

Shortness of breath, muscle or body aches, sore throat, new congestion or runny nose, new loss of taste or smell, or new cough

● First 4 days of symptoms:

○ Recommend a covid antigen test each day before deciding if your child

can come to school. (school can provide tests for you if needed)

○ If negative:

■ Can attend school that day, if they have the stamina to participate

in the school day and are available to learn.

■ A mask is recommended

■ Continue careful handwashing.

○ If positive

■ Contact the school nurse.

■ Isolate for at least 5 days.

● Day 5 and onward (if still symptomatic)

○ Can come to school without covid antigen testing if symptoms are

Improving.

○ If cough or runny nose are substantial, consider continued masking until

symptoms resolve.

○ Continue careful handwashing.

Elementary Lunch Visitors

We are excited to announce the return of lunch visitors to Richard Mann Elementary. We invite Parents/Guardians to join us as lunch visitors beginning on Monday, December 19, 2022. We do have a couple of updates to the process; these updates are to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff within our school building. Please note the process below:

  1. If you wish to have lunch with your student, you will need to register at least one day in advance of joining your student for lunch. To register, call the main office at 315-986-3521 ext. 8-1511 between 8:30am-3:30pm.

  2. At this time we are limiting the number of students that can have visitors to three students per grade level each day. You can visit each student one time per month.

  3. Due to spacing limitations, we cannot accommodate younger siblings at this time. Please leave younger siblings at home.

  4. You are invited to bring your lunch in, however, we ask that you do not bring in outside restaurant food for your child. We do not allow students to order food to be brought into school.

  5. When you arrive for your lunch, please remember to bring your Photo ID with you. You will need to enter the main office to receive a Visitor Badge.
