Gesell Maturational Theory
Lydia, Tia, Kailynn
The Theory
It explains all behavior in terms of genetics and biological changes that occur as an individual changes with age. In the early 20th century Gesell observed patterns in the way children developed and found that all children go through similar/ predictable sequences, although each individual go though the stages at different rates.
Cognitive And Physical Development Theory
The theory has to do with the development of their mental state which effects their physical state.
Real Life Example
Jenny's parents locked her in her room and gave her a potty chair which was also used as a place to sit and eat. Because she was not able to socialize for the 7 years that she was in there she ended up having a speech impairment.
