Come and celebrate Sukkot with family and friends! Shake the lulav and etrog. Help build and decorate five sukkot. Enjoy a delicious pizza lunch in your favorite sukkah.

Rabbi Moses Isserles (d.1572) taught that by starting to build the sukkah immediately after Yom Kippur, we move from one sacred mitzvah to the next:

"As we have shared worship and t'shuvah,

may we share hospitality and friendship in the days to come.

Mindful that our days are fleeting,

we prepare to taste the sweet fruits of this season;

to cherish life, to celebrate the light."

We have six consecrants this year: Eva Yoo, Julius Postal, Levi Zsiros, Livi Wadkins, Marshall Lundberg and William Popov.

Consecration marks the beginning of formal Jewish study. It is a sweet and meaningful ceremony for children and families alike. A large talit (prayer shawl) will be held over the students while Rabbi Schwartz offers encouragement and blessings. Each child will receive a miniature Torah, a consecration certificate and a discount voucher to attend a URJ Jewish summer camp.

PUT THESE EVENTS ON YOUR CALENDAR!
