Fulton Flier
Week of May 10TH
Thank you very for helping to celebrate our Fulton Staff last week during Teacher Appreciation. Your generous show of support of support through cards, signs, emails, yummy treats and essentials for our classrooms helped to put a smile on everyone's faces. The PTA's Staff Appreciation Committee, led by Ms. Aneesha Summerville, helped to make all of our staff feel very special. Thank you!
On Friday, May 7th "School Lunch Hero Day" we also celebrated our Cafeteria team, Ms. Cheryl Martin and Ms. Michele Rosenbaum. Our school cafeteria workers are heroes and now more than ever deserve a GIANT celebration! During normal times, they are among the first staff members to arrive at school, showing up early to start preparing at least two meals for our students to eat during the day. Since March 17, 2020, Ms. Martin and Ms. Rosenbaum have gone beyond their normal duties to keep students and families fed - packing breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and dinners every week. You are our HEROES, not only for today but also over the past year!
Thank you all of you who purchased a sweet treat from Nothing Bundt Cakes last Monday during our Fundraiser. We raised $220.00 to go towards our Front Office and Staff lounge Refresh. Thank you!
Warmly,
Dr. Burks

Pay Attention to Joy
It can be hard to notice good things when there is stress. It is also common to feel guilty about things that are going well, when we know things for others may be going through hard times. However, by focusing on joyful experiences and practicing gratitude, you can feel better.
How can I practice paying attention to positive experiences?
- Recognize the things in your life that are going well, no matter how small they might be. Start by listing 3 things that you are thankful for.
- You can focus on the good. If you are feeling bad for something that is going well for you, try to shift your guilt into being grateful.
- Take time to enjoy things. Do activities that bring you joy, even if they are as simple as breathing in fresh air, taking a warm shower, or lying still for two minutes.
- Practice being thankful. For example, every night before bed, write/draw 3 things that you are thankful for or 3 parts of your day that went well, even if they were small moments
If you have questions, please contact Mr. Bradley Dunagan (bradley_dunagan@hcpss.org)or Mrs. Maria Brickley (maria_brickley@hcpss.org).
