Please join the GHS community in celebrating homecoming. This time of year is a great time for our school community to come together to be proud of who we are as Gaylord Blue Devils. All of these events are optional, but we hope students join in and have a great time.

GHS Student Council has put together a week's worth of fun activities to help us all feel the Gaylord Blue Devil school spirit!

Sunday: Class Banner Making, 12-4, GHS Commons

Monday-Thursday: Float Building, 6-9 PM, Otsego County Fairgrounds

Homecoming Parade: Friday, 4:00 PM (from the fairgrounds through downtown)

Homecoming Tailgate: Friday, 5:30-7:00

Homecoming Football Game: Friday, 7:00 PM

Homecoming Dance: Saturday, 8:00-10:00 PM

The theme for homecoming this year is movies. Each class picked a movie, they are listed below:

Freshmen: Monsters, inc.

Sophomores: Minions

Juniors: Sandlot

Seniors: Teen Beach Movie

These themes will be represented on their banners, their floats, and the theme dress up day.

Each day, students are encouraged to dress up with the theme of the day. Students are encouraged to have fun, but to still follow the dress code.

Monday: Slumber Party

Tuesday: Neon

Wednesday: BBQ Dad vs. Soccer Mom

Thursday: Movie Day (class theme)

Friday: Blue and Gold

Students not in the parade are encouraged to gather along the parade route to cheer on their classmates. The parade route moves south from the fairgrounds, West on M-32, and then North on N. Otsego and back to the fairgrounds.

Student Council is sponsoring a tailgate for students, with free food and drinks for GHS students.

During the halftime of the Homecoming game between the Gaylord Blue Devils and the Cadillac Vikings, the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned and the Marching Band will perform.

The Homecoming Dance will be held in the GHS commons on Saturday, September 24th from 8:00-10:00. Tickets are on sale at GHS each day during lunch through September 23rd. Tickets will not be available to purchase at the door.

Student are not permitted to bring bags in to the dance.

If a student is bringing a date that does not attend GHS, they need to complete a guest dance form by 3:00 PM on Friday, September 23rd. These forms are available in the office.
