Seniors- February 2018
CELEBRATE!
We are hoping that you are celebrating that your college applications have been submitted. College admission offices are busy reading your files. Sometimes admission officers have questions and/or want more information about your applications. Make sure that you are responding to these requests.
If you have submitted your CSS Profile and completed the IDOC process, then all you have to do is wait for admission decisions and financial aid packages to come in. If you have a little extra time, you can apply for scholarships:
SCHOLARSHIPS
*Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program

*Tiger Woods Foundation
We have an exciting new partnership with the Tiger Woods Foundation. They are opening up their scholarship to College Match students. Make sure that you write in the activities section that you are a College Match student.

BE READY FOR SPECIAL INVITATIONS!
In late March you will begin to receive admission decisions. Often when you are Admitted to a college, that college will invite you to participate in a program for admitted students. There are two types of Admitted Student Programs:
Receptions in Los Angeles
Fly Out Programs
I want to make sure that you are ready to take advantage of these opportunities. When you are invited to fly out to a school, the college will set a deadline! Please make sure that you respond immediately if you are interested. Once you are confirmed for a fly out program, please make sure that you attend and are ready to travel!!!! It is NOT good practice to cancel the trip. These colleges are using their limited resources to pay for your travel, once you book the college expects you to show up! Before you respond IMMEDIATELY
*Check your calendar, with teachers, and administrators. Often teachers and administrators will understand the IMPORTANCE of visiting a potential college and will be accommodating. But ask first!!!
*California ID. If you do NOT have a CA ID now is the RIGHT time to get one. Once you turn 18, you will NEED a CA ID, or Passport in order to board a plane.
