Virtual Sports for Spring

Big picture

Virtual Sports Offering

Special Olympics of Illinois is hosting a series of virtual sport offerings for March, April, and May! If you are interested in participating in any of these virtual offerings, please complete the CCSD15 Blue Jays electronic registration form. You will also need to complete either the Special Olympics of Illinois Med. App. or Waiver for Virtual Sports. These forms are attached below and are also available on the Blue Jays web page on the CCSD15 website.

Our CCSD15 coaches will offer two weekly virtual practices (20 minutes each). One practice will be a 'live' practice and athletes will be able to join virtually through Google Meet while the second weekly practice will be pre-recorded for athletes to complete at their leisure. Special Olympics of Illinois will display a leaderboard on their website where they will showcase all athletes and their scores.

Because these are virtual offerings, parents are required to be present to monitor and assist their children with any and all activities and to ensure their child's safety throughout.

March Virtual Sport Offering (Basketball)

Special Olympics of Illinois has provided a Functional Fitness Challenge calendar for the month of March and basketball individual skills virtual offerings. Athletes will complete the functional exercises listed on the calendar for as many days in the month as possible. Athletes will have access to a series of videos of CCSD15 Blue Jays coaches demonstrating each of the functional exercises along with videos of possible warm-up exercises.
