MEETING IN A MEMO - SEPTEMBER 24
SAFETY TRAINING
During next Wednesday's meeting, we will be going over our annual safety training. Gil Smith will be here to talk about our safety plan and Sean Mattocks, from SJPD, will be providing lockdown training. We'll start at 1:30 and expect to take 60-90 minutes.
COUGAR PRIDE - DUE TODAY
Please remember to fill out the Cougar Pride form before leaving today. Leslie will be emailing parents to let them in on the "secret" that their child is being recognized next week. Thanks to our AMAZING 8 who have already filled out their form!
P.A.W.S.
I know there is is a lot going on, but don't forget to add your PAWS winner to the list.
INDIVIDUAL LEARNING PLANS - DUE OCTOBER 15
At the bottom of this memo, you'll find a PDF of an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) that should be filled out, signed, and turned into Cathy by October 15th. This should be a document that highlights the areas that you'll be focusing on in the classroom and behind the scenes. Since everyone is incorporating Writers Workshop Units of Study, you might want to include that in your plan/goals. As always, working with your grade level team is a great way to get started. If you prefer an editable form, rather than a PDF, visit the Team Alta Vista website and you'll find it in the in the Contracts & Evaluations section.
INTERMEDIATE LUNCH LINES
Today, we had the third, fourth, and fifth graders line up outside rooms 19, 20, and 21 at the end of lunch recess. Then we called them by grade level to walk down to the tables/cafeteria. This created a much calmer environment, so we'll continue with this plan (until we come up with something better :)
FYI
Vicki will be out Thursday through Monday to celebrate her son's wedding. We expect to see some pics when she comes back.
