The Patricia Gallagher Award

You get to vote for the picture book you like the most!

Here are the picture books that have been nominated for this "kids only" award...

Kids Pick the Winner of this Special Oregon Book Award

In library skills classes (grades K-3), we will read aloud the five books that have been nominated for the award.

In April you will get an official ballot. Each student can vote for the book they like the best. You are the judges!

When the votes from kids all over Oregon are counted, the book that gets the most votes will be declared the winner.

Who is Patricia Gallagher?

Patricia Gallagher was a teacher and college professor who loved children's books and was the president of the Oregon Reading Association. Oregon teachers and librarians decided to name this picture book award after her.
