Getting Ready for KAD Day!

The day we have been waiting for... KAD Day is tomorrow! We hope to see all of our Tamanend families, past and present, as we support the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund again this year. Three-on-three basketball games start at 9 AM. Quarterfinal rounds will start around 2:20 PM; and semifinal and final rounds start close to 4:20 PM. Mrs. Peggy Dolan will speak between 3:50 and 4:20PM. There are lots of awesome things to eat, do, and win! Most of all, our KAD Day will support the Fund's important work of helping families of chronically and terminally ill children with their everyday expenses that are not covered by insurance. It is an incredible day of being Tamanend Together!

February's Teacher Feature

Submitted by Paige S.

Mrs. Stryjak has been teaching Social Studies for 17 years. Her hobbies outside of school include camping, gardening, spending time with family, road tripping, and reading. Mrs. Stryjak and her husband have a daughter named Kalie, a dog named Kenyon, a cat named Lakota, and a goldfish named Ernie. Mrs. Stryjak's favorite places she has traveled are Ireland and Maine. Teal and Aqua are Mrs. Stryjak’s favorite colors. Mrs. Stryjak attended college at Penn State, and received her masters at Wilkes University. Do you like lobster and clams? Well those are Mrs. Stryjak’s favorite foods. Mrs. Stryjak loves country music and Tamanend’s very own Mr. Landis happens to be Mrs. Stryjaks favorite author. When Mrs. Stryjak retires, she wants to travel the country.

Superintendent Parent Advisory Council Service Project

As a school and district we are committed to service in our community. For the month of February, all CB schools will support the Superintendent's Parent Advisory Council service project to assist non-profit organizations within our local community: A Woman's Place, gardens for local area nursing homes, and the Middle School Relay for Life. To that end, each school in our district will be collecting spare change. Tamanend's "spare change" container is located in our Main Office.

Nominate a TMS Student for Boomerang Recognition

CB Cares Educational Foundation recognizes and supports the students of Central Bucks School District for living by the 40 Developmental Assets. This month's asset is #26 Caring: Young person cares about others. He/She places a high value on helping other people. He/she thinks about ways of helping others and is motivated to initiate kind and thoughtful acts.

Anyone can nominate a Tamanend student. Parents/Guardians, grandparents, neighbors, siblings, friends... the more students nominated, the more there is to celebrate!

Please click here to submit your Boomerang nomination. Nominations are due February 27.

A Few Friendly Reminders

Backpacks and School Bags: Students should keep their backpacks, book bags, etc. in their locker during the school day until dismissal.

After School:

  • Students are welcome, even encouraged, to participate in and attend after school events. However, students are not permitted to just "hang out" on the Tamanend campus after school.
  • Once a student leaves the Tamanend campus, they may not return for an activity or event unless brought back by a parent/guardian.
  • Students are not permitted to cut through our neighbors' properties to get to Rt 611.

The following state assessments are planned for students:

  • PSSA ELA: April 10-12
  • PSSA Math: April 17 & 18
  • PSSA Science: April 24 & 25
