Our New Assistant Principal, Mrs. Bailey
I am excited to announce Allison Bailey as the new assistant principal for O.C. Taylor Elementary! At the regular Board meeting on Monday, May 20, Trustees approved Mrs. Bailey for this role starting in the 2019-20 school year.
Mrs. Bailey has served as a first, fourth and fifth-grade teacher at Bear Creek Elementary since 2006 and previously served as a kindergarten teacher in Mansfield ISD.
She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Baylor University and a master’s degree in education from Texas Christian University.
Mrs. Bailey and her husband have two children who will be attending O.C. Taylor in the fall. Their family dog, a rescue dog named Bailey, is loyal and so much like a third child. She has a soft spot in her heart for all animals. Green is Mrs. Bailey's favorite color because she loves nature and being outdoors. She loves glitter as it adds sparkle to everything! She grew up in Temple, Texas. Mrs. Bailey shared, "I feel so blessed to join the O.C. Taylor family! I look forward to serving the community and building relationships with the students, staff, and families."
She will not only bring valuable skills and experience to our campus but also her expertise in building relationships with our students and community. We are so excited for Ms. Bailey to join the OCT family!

ART ROCKS! LITERALLY!
Dear Tiger Family:
Take a look at the O.C. TAYLOR ROCK GARDEN! Students ROCKED it! Beautiful, bright colors, creative, carefully crafted painted rocks are sure to put a smile on your face as you pass by.
We have a few more to do next year, so the project is not completely finished, but, we got a great bunch done and COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT THE AMAZING MRS. MORGAN, and PTA Volunteers Tamaron Hunt, Amy Haga, Misty Albright, and, Betsy Dodson.
THANK YOU all for your help.
HAVE A GREAT SUMMER, EVERYBODY! ART ROCKS!

Box Tops Fundraiser
The final lap of the Box Top Racing to Recess Challenge has been completed! 3rd grade maintained their early lead and won the race with 698 box tops. Kinder picked up speed to finish second with 527 box tops and bump 5th grade into 3rd place with 511 box tops. A huge thank you to everyone who turned in box tops this year. You helped OC Taylor earn over $500. 3rd grade will get an extra recess next week to celebrate their victory. Don't forget to continue collecting box tops over the summer so you can join in the fun next year!
Join the PTA!
Thank you to all our parents and staff that joined the PTA already! We truly appreciate your support!
If you did not join the PTA at Meet the Teacher, we encourage you to do so. The annual dues are only $7.50 per membership. That's the lowest price in town for PTA memberships, and it's the BEST, in my opinion! Membership in the PTA allows you to improve the education and opportunities for our students. When you join the PTA, you become a member of the Texas PTA, and you will receive a copy of our 2018-2019 Paw Prints student directory! This valuable directory contains classroom lists, phone numbers, addresses and other vital information you will use all year! To join the PTA, it's so simple, visit JOINPTA.ORG
Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Liz Payne- VP Memberships
Thank you!
