North News
September 21, 2017
From Alison
Thank you for your assistance, flexibility, understanding, and patience as we navigated a schedule change on September 21. I have never had to do that in my career and I hope to never have to again. Dion and I are going to continue to partner together with district administration to look at our overall staffing model for future years.
I continue to be impressed with North Campus every single day. I appreciate your willingness to rally around a problem and look at solutions. I appreciate your willingness and openness in communication. I appreciate the love you have for each other, our students, and North Campus. I will continue to say this, I am very blessed to be here.
As we near the end of our first month of school, I want to simply say THANK YOU!

Professional Development Opportunity
Please see below for an email I received about an opportunity through Equity Alliance MN.
I am writing with one more professional learning opportunity for your teachers and staff. SEED classes (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) are year-long text-based courses led by trained facilitators focused on racial and cultural understanding. Equity Alliance MN is offering three classes. These are SEED 1 for those new to SEED; SEED 2-3 for those in their second and third years; and SEED South, which is a multi-level course for those desiring a course on the southeastern edge of the metro.
At this time, there are several spaces available for the introductory course, SEED 1, which will meet at Roseville Area Middle School from 4:45-7:45 p.m. Wednesdays, October 4, November 1, December 6, 2017 and January 3, February 7, March 14, April 4, and May 2, 2018. The facilitators will be Todd Richter and Diana Gertz from Roseville Area Schools. SEED 1 is designed to have participants see themselves and to view others with new perspectives.
SEED South has two spaces yet available. This cohort will meet at South St. Paul Secondary School, 700 N. 2nd St., South St. Paul, MN 55075 from 4:45-7:45 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 4, Nov. 1, Dec. 6, Jan. 10, Feb. 7, March 21, April 18, May 16. Their facilitators will be Kim Dahlen and Jen Sexauer, South St. Paul teachers. SEED South is a blended curriculum that allows participants to examine closely their cultural reflections in mirrors and the lives of those who are culturally different from them through windows.
SEED 2-3 is full.
The cost for the courses are:
Equity Alliance MN members, $100 per person.
Any WMEP member district staff member, $125 per person.
Any interested educator, staff member, or community member, $150 per person.
