Knightly Update September 27, 2020
Edition Vol 9 Issue 10
Good morning. Welcome to the last week of the quarter. It surprises me how fast this quarter went considering we were online throughout. I am very excited to welcome our students back on October 13 and I hope they are looking forward to being back on our campus as well. A special Knightly Update was sent on Wednesday (click here to view) sharing procedures we will ask students to follow when they return, so please make sure you take the time to read this update.
On Friday, quarter one grades will be posted. Please review your child's progress once grades are available for review. If students are discouraged with a grade, please have them reflect on processes that they struggled with and areas they succeeded so they can be prepared to begin the second quarter to the best of their ability. Students are always encouraged to reach out to their teachers, counselors or the administrative team to discuss ways to improve and review strategies for success. Please encourage your child to reach out if necessary.
Last week, district administration recommended to the Governing Board that ACP-Erie move to the new high school (located at Gilbert & Ocotillo Rd) that is currently under construction. The new high school will open for the 2021-2022 school year. The board will vote to accept or deny this recommendation on Wednesday, October 14. You may view Dr. Gilbert's presentation/recommendation by clicking here. If the recommendation is approved by the Governing Board, all current ACP-Erie students in grades 9-11 will automatically be slated to move to the new site. I will update our school community as to the Governing Board's decision via October 18th's Knightly Update. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
I want to thank our students for all the work they have put forth this quarter. They have really done a nice job and I am proud of their efforts. Thank you to our teachers for all they have done preparing lessons, recording lessons, grading assignments, answering emails, and working with our students both in groups and individually. A sincere thank you as well to our counselors, classified staff, and my administrative team on a job well done while operating in a virtual environment. Great work, everyone.
I hope you and your family has a fantastic fall break. As this is the last week of the quarter, our next Knightly Update will be sent on Sunday, October 11. Have a great break Knights - stay safe and have fun! I'll see you on October 13! Go KNIGHTS!
