COVID-19 Safety and Risk-Mitigation Procedures 2021-2022

The PPCS plan for safely re-opening was voted on at last night's board meeting. You'll find the entire plan at this link. Palouse Prairie will operate in person, five days per week, with rigorous safety protocols maintained, including consistent indoor mask-wearing by all students and teachers, regardless of vaccination status, distancing as feasible, hand-washing and sanitizing, and isolation of individuals who have symptoms or who have been exposed. See PPCS COVID Scenarios document for details.

If your family’s situation prevents your student from attending school in-person, including due to significant medical issues affecting the student or immediate family members, PPCS will provide a remote learning option. The remote option offered will be through Idaho Distance Learning Alliance (IDLA) in core subject areas only, which also allows your student to maintain their enrollment at PPCS. PPCS will try to include remote students in outdoor learning opportunities when possible. Families have the option to reevaluate quarterly. Please contact school leadership via email at leadership@palouseprairieschool.org by the end of the day on August 30th to discuss this option and other individualized accommodations.

A Huge Thank You David Herbold!

PPCS Board member David Herbold recently spearheaded our grounds beautification project by supervising at PPCS during UI's Supporting Your New Community day. Ten UI students helped tackle the weeds on our grounds. David also took on re-sealing the playground climbing logs. Please let him know we appreciate his efforts!!

Getting Closer to our Playground Goal!

We are more than halfway to there! Thank you to all who have donated. We have raised $15,875 of our $25,000 goal. Construction on our playground starts soon and we need your contribution to complete it! Our current funds will allow us to install swings, monkey bars, and embankment slides. Please help us to add a basketball court and hoops, wall ball and much-needed landscaping. Every dollar counts. Please consider giving what you are able, so we can finish our beautiful playground for students to exercise their minds and bodies! You can donate here.
