Islam Information
The followers of the Islam religion are called Muslims. They believe that God gave some of his followers holy books and scriptures. Their sacraments are called the Five Pillars of Islam. These are testimony of faith, prayer, charity, fasting, and pilgrimage. Their places of worship are called Mosques and they are lead by prayer leaders called Imams. Their holy book is called the Quran. Their are two official holidays in Islam, Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha. Eid Al-Fitr is celebrated at the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting and Eid Al-Adha is celebrated on the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah and lasts four days. Mecca is the holy city of the Islam religion. Muslims are supposed to go there at least once in their lifetime. The one common figure between all three main religions Abraham. He founded the Monotheist religion and his sons developed the idea into these three religion. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all Monotheistic religions which means they believe there is only one God.
