A toll free confidential service which provides alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and problem gambling support, information and referral to services. The Addiction Helpline operates 24 hour a day, seven days a week and is available to all Albertans.

Distress Centre Calgary provides 24 hour crisis support in Calgary and southern Alberta through our 24 hour crisis line, email and daily chat and daily text for our youth. We also have professional counselling for clients with issues that can’t be resolved over the phone. For people needing information on community, social, community and health services we have 24 hour support on our 211 line. All our services are free.

Canadian Mental Health Association – Calgary Region Our Peer Support service provides the opportunity for anyone – individual, family member, or professional – to speak with someone with lived experiences of mental health or substance use concerns. By engaging with our Peer Support Workers, you can make a connection with someone with lived experience, increase your sense of engagement and belonging, and move through your recovery journey to develop skills and build resiliency.

URGENT MENTAL HEALTH CARE
URGENT MENTAL HEALTH IN URGENT CARE
Crisis mental health assessment and support is available at two of the Urgent Care Centres in Calgary:
- Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre (SMCHC), located in the Beltline
- South Calgary Health Centre (SCHC), locatedin the far south near Shawnessy/Sundance
Both centres are open 7 days per week, every day of the year, with SMCHC being open 24 hours per day and SCHC open from 8 am – 10 pm. Urgent Mental Health assistance is available at both sites from 8 am – 10 pm every day. SCHC also provides walk-in, single session counselling at no fee with variable hours during the week.
