Kelly Miller

He was the first black man to attend John Hopkins University. He live in Winnsboro, South Carolina. He was sent to the Fairfield Institute to study, earning a scholarship to Howard University. He spent his teaching career at Howard University and actually died on the compass!He was the sixth out of tenth kid. His dad was a confederate soldier and mother was a former slave. At John Hopkins University, where he did post-graduate work in mathematics, physics, and astronomy until 1889. After graduating from Howard in 1889, having excelled in Latin, Greek as well as math and sociology, Miller secured a position in the u.s. Pension office. In 1895, Miller became the first person to teach at it In 1895, Miller became the first person at the university to teach sociology. In 1991 Kelly Miller earned his masters degree.
