2. Make sure you have worked with students on the content for their student-led conference presentation. Students will add content to their advisory slides this week during advisory class time. Please refer to the calendar below.
3. Distribute the blue conference forms to students on Monday.
4. Smile and continue to have fun!
Week 9: Student-Led Conference Preparation
10/12: Students start to complete advisory slides of Google Presentation. Finish SMART Goal setting if necessary. Teachers distribute half-sheet documentation to students to give to parents indicating when they will be attending their conference. Also, teachers post a Canvas announcement about conferences. This form is due on Friday, 10/16.
I would like students to check their email daily as I will send them a note each day about this process.

10/15: Students pair/share their presentations with another student.
10/16: Students practice their presentation with another student pretending to be their parent. Students will ask questions during their presentation to their parent. The other student pretending to be the parent will ask questions as well. These questions are located here: Conference Checklist and Questions Please make sure students practice this step.
The teacher who gets the highest percent of participation from students at each grade level will win a prize! Please encourage all students to participate.

Bulletin Board Brigade
Tomi is in her 30th year of teaching art at Schmucker. She began her teaching career at Schmucker as a student teacher then taking her supervising teachers position the following year. Tomi grew up in Mishawaka and graduated from Mishawaka High School. She received her Art Education Degree from Indiana University, Bloomington. Tomi married her high school sweetheart and just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. They have 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy who are all Penn High School graduates and their biggest baby, a 200lb English Mastiff. Just this year they became empty nesters with a daughter at IU and a son at IUPUI. In September, in Seattle, Washington she completed her 18th marathon. When she is not running, or creating art, Tomi enjoys spending time with her family, stamping and traveling.
