Update on Lock Down Procedures: (repeat from email)
Here is the reference guide to clarify the expectations/procedures for a lock down situation. It is based on the "official" text of the "Lock Down Crisis Plan", and I have added large black boxes with white text to make clarifications and to specify, with examples.
- This is not meant to be overwhelming, nor memorized! Find the information in each section that applies to YOU, get comfortable with it, and that's it.
- We are all human - please do NOT focus on being anxious about typing too much or too little in the chat, about doing the wrong thing, or about forgetting some piece; part of the reason for this practice is to demystify, get more comfortable, and check that our systems and procedures work. We can always adjust our plans after the fact. At the end of the day, just take care of our kids!
- If you have questions that aren't covered by this document, reach out! If you have 'em, likely someone else does, too.
- If you still have a physical space concern (a door not working, no magnet, etc.), please reach out ASAP to me so we can address it in advance.
- Check that your doors close and lock, make sure you have your keys with you early next week (hint, hint!), and take some deep breaths - it'll go smoothly!
- Remember: the less anxiety we have about this whole drill, the less our kids will have!
- Lastly: I will ask for feedback from you as individuals and/or small groups next week after the drill to check in and see how things went, what was still confusing, etc. Be honest - we're in this together!
Climate Survey/Review360: (REVIEW FROM LAST WEEK)
- We will take the Climate Survey during the week of 9/30; 4th/5th during tech time, 1st - 3rd at home with parents.
- I will continue the practice of following up directly with students/parents about "surprising" or "concerning" responses.
- FUTURE DATES: the Winter Climate Survey will be sent the week of 2/3/20, and the Spring the week of 5/18/20.
- REVIEW360: we will administer the Review360 assessment the week of 10/7; this will be the same process from last year.

Shout Outs!
- Kerry, Sean, Lisa Gi., Lori, Gini, and all the classroom teachers who put in a long, productive day on Thursday for our Data Review! It may have been grueling, but we did it!
- Steph and Emily for launching a delightful "Publication Party" for their second-grade authors!
- Sydney, Kristin, and Katie for allowing me to steal their classes for a bit too long to talk about bullying, kindness, and the Climate Survey!
- Sue T. and Peter for keeping some extra eyes on the morning football this week and helping remind our kids that they're not quite ready for the NFL
- Julie J. for being so patient, kind, and ready to roll with it!
