Principal's Message
Kia Ora,
Wasn’t the weather perfect for our children’s school holidays? I hope children were able to get out and enjoy their time on holiday. The weather this week is great too for childrens' return to school.
We welcome our new students...
Amira Hettiarchchige, Cara Delos Santos, Komba Kortequee, Tahlia Tremain, Juan Monge-Guardado, Reuben Tapsell, Micayla Martirez, Gallahan Menor, Sienna Lewis, Ysabella Dominguito, Harry Mathis, Nathea Bayron, Keller Anand, Romeo Evans, Wyatt Murphy and Margaux Tuburan.
We were represented by Rebecca de la Rocha and Noah Lomas at the ANZAC parade and Civic Ceremony on ANZAC day. Unfortunately, we were only permitted to have two students representing the school due to Covid restrictions. Our two representatives did a fantastic job.
In the holiday break Rooms 14, 15, 16, 17, library, reception, enrichment room and downstairs admin area were carpeted. The new carpet looks great. Richard our caretaker has given the grass areas at school their autumn renovations. Thanks to Richard for his hard work for keeping the school ship-shape and also Deb who works on the grounds too.
The PTA Mothers’ Day Gift Shop was open today in the school hall and will be open again tomorrow and Friday at lunchtime. Children can choose a gift for $3.00. Thanks to the PTA for organising this for us.
Just to reassure you that we are doing our very best to try and slow down the spread of Covid at school. We still expect students to sanitise when they arrive at school and when they enter learning spaces, ventilation is good in all the classrooms. Our air purifiers have arrived today and will be put into classrooms at the end of the week. Teachers and students from Year 4 are expected to wear masks indoors. Please notify us if your child has had covid so we can keep an accurate record.
A reminder that school starts at 8.45 am and finishes at 3.00pm for everyone.

DIRECTOR OF RELIGIOUS STUDIES
Happy Mothers Day to all our lovely Mums. Pope Francis wrote a beautiful quote in 2020 which fits perfectly with this special day.
‘I wish to remember all our Mothers with gratitude and affection, entrusting them to the protection of Mary, our heavenly Mother. Let us also remember those mothers who accompany us from Heaven.'
This week we welcome lots of new families to St Mary’s. We hope your children have had a fantastic week of learning and fun within our school community.
As part of our continuing Professional Development our teachers had a look around St Mary’s Church on Tuesday afternoon. We hope to show and share our students the new knowledge and facts about our vibrant and special Church.
