ECPS Weekly Memo
November 1, 2013
Our mission is to create TIES: Teach, Inspire, Encourage, Support
I mentioned the need to recognize the impact of stress in our lives at our staff meeting today - here is an excerpt from SpecialEdConnection (an email that I get during the week):
"When working with children, your staff may not think about the physical, spiritual and psychological impact that stress can have...Our body is a tool that we use, if we don't take good care of it, we wind up taking in all of the issues that come up while helping a child with special needs. Taking care of ourselves includes eating properly, writing a journal, reflecting with a colleague, and getting enough sleep." Good advice for all of us!
The GISD music therapists have been asked to provide some general music consultation to help the staff at ECPS incorporate music into the curriculum more consistently. To help guide the consultation process, please complete the following survey (found below) by Friday, November 15, 2013. Teachers, please complete this survey with input from your para-educators, if possible. Take your time and give it plenty of thought. The more information you provide, the more specifically we can design tools to meet your needs.
The STAGES software is currently available for certificated staff, we are waiting for it to be ready for everyone else in the near future.
