Our Mission
Core Beliefs
- Each student has unique intellectual, emotional, social, and physical qualities.
- We embrace a child’s individual values, interests, and personalities.
- Parents are confident in their child’s social and intellectual educational growth.
- Educators lead their craft by preparing learners in our fast changing world
Principal's Message
We have three weeks to make every instructional minute count for our young scholars for 2019! As we go into this time, let us ensure good first instruction is happening all the time. We maximize every child's learning through intentional practices.
- What specific best practices and effective teaching strategies will we emphasize during this teaching/learning week?
- What strategies will you use to increase rigor among all scholars? How do you know?
As a community- we have declared our goal to improve on state accountability standards by one letter grade, but of course we are always aiming higher!
Academic December Goals: Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships
- Evidence of Reader's and Writer's Workshop in daily practice
- Evidence of Conferring and/or Guided Reading in daily practice
- Evidence of Math Workshop (guided math) in daily practice with campus wide focus on math problem solving (at appropriate grade level)
Wildcat Staff News:
Let us welcome our newest wildcat staff member signing on Monday! Ms. Mosqueda is joining us as a fifth grade teacher. She joins us from her last appointment as a 3/4th grade ELAR teacher at Ser Ninos Charter School. Please welcome her! Ms. Saenz, has accepted the Kindergarten position and had an internal move. We also are being joined by Ms. Capetillo, our new lifeskills assistant. She was most recently a manager at Northbrook High School. We are still hiring for our 2nd grade teacher that will soon join us!
Here's to a productive and great learning week!
Wildcat Love and respect,
Rachel Martinez

Shout Outs
Collective Greatness!
- Special shout out to our CNS crew that feed our kids twice a day every school day! For 2 days, they prepared meals for not only our kids, but also their parents/grandparents, etc! High five your friendly CNS team mate sometime this week- and let them know thanks for all they do!
- Our amazing front office-consisting of 3 lovely ladies also made sure all families were properly checked in and out! Woohoo!
- Many thanks to the ILT, Care Team, and Specials for decorating, cutting pies, ensuring music in the background, and making sure all families were welcomed in!
- Our Specials team took on Turkey Trot a.k.a. Turkey Madness! Kids seemed to have a blast!
- Ms. Krebs is enjoying opening the library for breakfast and lunch bunches!
- Our brave & courageous team leaders learning from the best- Ms. Regina Owens!
- Our wildcats take an early morning opportunity to decorate the front office tree.
- Ms. Urrutia helped our Kinder with our Houston Ballet visit for story time with the Nutcracker!
- Adriana and the Care Team took care of our Thanksgiving Potluck & Sandwiches the next day! Yum!
- Our CISes & Dean take care of business when kids are in need! In the winter time, it's a great time to take a close look for kids in need or distress...if you spot someone- don't hesitate to reach out to the team for assistance.
By the way- all this was just in one week! AND YOU WERE MAKING IT HAPPEN IN THE CLASSROOM WITH GOOD FIRST INSTRUCTION! *whew*
