Pioneer Mission 10
Pioneer Mission 10 was the first spacecraft intended to fly past Jupiter, surviving the intense radiation that surrounds Jupiter. This was launched on March 2nd 1972.
Pioneer 10 was the first spacecraft to cross the asteroid belt. It also took close-up pictures of Jupiter. This spacecraft transmitted data on the magnetic fields in space. This mission took 21 months.
Some of the Pioneer mission 10s instuments are the Infrared radiometre, Ultraviolet photometer and the Cosmic-ray telescope. There are also lots more instruments.
