Principal's Note: Winter is here!
Our first heavy snowfall came quickly this year! We have thoroughly reviewed recess expectations with all grade levels. It is our priority to keep our kids safe while they continue to have fun.
Please remind your child(ren) to bring the following items if they would like to play in the snow during recess:
- Jacket
- Hat
- Gloves
- Snow pants
- Boots
Reminder...Our students are permitted to go outside for recess when the temperature is 5ºF including windchill or warmer. Morning line up will be outside if the temperature is 10ºF including windchill or warmer.
Warmly,
Rachel

THANK YOU

Erich Kirr and Marna Bolger- Share the Feast
DON'T MISS THESE EVENTS!
Share the Feast: Please join the Sharing Committee in our tradition of purchasing Jewel gift cards for the families at our sister school, Carman-Buckner Elementary. Carman-Buckner is located about 25 miles north of Wilmette in Waukegan, and over 80% of the students come from low income households. Let's help make their holidays even brighter this season! Donations accepted Nov. 12th through Nov. 30th. Donate here.
Share the Joy: November 12 through December 5. We all look forward to the joy we see in our children’s faces when they open gifts during the holiday season. Please help us share that joy with families of Carman-Buckner Elementary. Our goal this year is to share 150 new toys. All new toys donated by the McKenzie community will stock our Holiday Shop where eligible Carman-Buckner families are invited to "shop" for their children at the Holiday Shop December 8. To ensure that the proper mix of gender/age appropriate gifts are donated, we have created a Sign Up Genius. Donations of wrapping paper and scotch tape are also appreciated.
Please email Erich Kirr at erich.kirr@gmail.com with questions.
