4/1/21 Young School Newsletter
Dear Young Families,
We look forward to seeing our students back after spring break on Tuesday, 4/6 for remote learning from 9:00-1:00. District schools are closed on 4/6 due to voting in the buildings.
In-person learning will resume on 4/7 (9:00-11:30 for hybrid students and 12:30-3:30 for remote students).
We look forward to the start of full days of student learning (9:00-3:00) for in-person and remote students starting on April 13. We will be sharing more detailed information with our families soon.
I hope that everyone is enjoying their spring break along with the lovely spring weather.

Self-Service Material Pick Up-April 5-(School Gym)
On Monday, April 5 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm there will be 4th quarter self-service material pick up in the Young School gym. If your child was not in person at school before spring break, their 4th quarter materials are available in the gym.
Parents should park in the staff parking lot and enter the gym through Door 11. Families will need to wear their masks when walking to the gym as well as when entering and leaving the school building. Students will need these materials for learning activities during the 4th quarter which begins on April 6.
April Dates
- 4/5: No School-Self Service Material Pick Up in Gym
- 4/6: Remote Learning Day (9:00 - 1:00 schedule) for all students due to voting occurring in District 204 buildings
- 4/7, 4/8, 4/9 School Hours: Hybrid Students (9:00-11:30) & Remote Students (12:30-3:30)
- 4/12: (Please review the various schedules below)
***3rd, 4th, 5th students taking the IAR in the building: 9:00 -11:30
***3rd, 4th, 5th not taking the IAR: will have an asynchronous day of learning
- 4/13: First Full Day for all students (9:00-3:00) in-person and remote students
- 4/28: General PTA Meeting at 7:00 pm over zoom 4/28 PTA Meeting Link
Update About IAR Assessments on 4/12 and 4/19 for 3rd, 4th, 5th Grade Students
- 3rd, 4th, 5th grade students need to bring headphones, fully charged chromebook, water bottle, and a pencil.
- Parents need to log onto to ParentVUE to complete self-certification for their child before they come for testing.
April 12: (9:00-11:30)
IAR Testing (3rd, 4th, 5th grade)
3rd, 4th, 5th grade students not taking the IAR will work at home asynchronously.
April 19: (9:00-3:00)
IAR Testing (3rd, 4th, 5th grade)
3rd, 4th, 5th Grade students taking the IAR will be at school from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.
3rd, 4th, 5th grade students not taking the IAR will work at home asynchronously until 12:15. 3rd, 4th, 5th grade students at home on 4/19 will zoom into class at 12:15

Kindergarten 2021-2022
Our school welcomes our incoming Kindergarten students to the 2021-22 school year.
If you have a child who will be five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2021, he or she is eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year.
