PAWS-itively Ridgeview
Congratulations RCMS C5 Scholars
C5 Georgia is a leadership training program for high-potential teens to prepare them for leadership roles in college, work, and their communities through a 5-year program of support. Of 300 applicants state-wide, 42 were chosen for this program in the Atlanta area. Ridgeview celebrates four of our own chosen or wait-listed:
- Jose Aguilar Ramos
- Iley Miles
- Emma Perry
- Nicole Cespedes Melgar (wait-list)
RCMS 212 Degree Award Winners for March
To celebrate the IB traits our staff exemplify and to highlight those who have gone the 1 extra degree, we give monthly 212 Degree Awards. It is built on the premise that at 211 degrees water doesn't boil. With just one extra degree, it boils. We're thankful for 5 staff members each month who will be highlighted for giving that 1 extra degree to our school.
- Ms. Kristen Janssen (7th ESOL) is given the Risk-taking & Thinking Award: the recipient is not afraid to use creativity to inspire and to help others succeed.
- Mr. Steven Sanders (PE) is given the Inquiry & Knowledge Award: The recipient has innovatively instructed with MYP, WICOR, Personalized Learning instruction that empowers student ownership of learning.
- Ms. Teresa Wilber (6th Special Education) is given the Caring & Communicator Award: The recipient maintains a positive, caring attitude in difficult situations and steps outside his/her job description to help others.
- Ms. Jai Cruz (6th ELA) is given the Principled & Balanced Award: The recipient demonstrates principled leadership during difficult times, showing balance and sensitivity to those following his/her lead.
- Ms. Ayoluwa Parham (6th ESOL & ESOL Chair) is given the Open-minded & Reflective Award: The recipient is open-minded and reflective to support students in powerful ways beyond the expected as an educator
Spirit Wear Store Hours Changing
After Spring Break the RCMS spirit wear store will be open for sales near the gym on Wednesdays only before school. New fall spirit wear designs will be announced close to summer with the ability to pre-order. As a reminder, our RCMS uniform guidelines are here.
Georgia Milestones Assessments Are Happening - Parent Info Meeting!
With Milestones assessments on the way, join us March 31st on Microsoft Teams (click to join) at 9:00 for schedules for f-2-f or virtual, preparation, opt-outs, and more.
Reminder of Remote Schedule After Spring Break
After spring break students will remote learn Monday-Wednesday. On these scheduled remote days we will teach live on Teams following our normal class/school schedules. Students who learn f-2-f will return to school buildings Thursday, April 15th.
School Governance Council (SGC) Elections 3/24-3/31
Parents received an e-mail from FCS with personalized voting information to the accounts we have on file in Infinite Campus on March 24th. Vote through 3/31, and learn about our candidates here.
FCS District Federal Programs Input
The Federal Programs Department is holding its district Federal Programs Input Meeting. They are requesting parent, community, and staff input into how FCS spends our federal grant funds (Title I, II, III, IV, and IDEA) and our District Parent and Family Engagement Plan. The meeting dates are March 31st at 9:00 am (Join here https://bit.ly/District_Input_1) or April 1st at 1:00 pm (join here https://bit.ly/District_Input_2). The meetings will take place on Teams.
