Soul Café Helpful Hints
It is up to each individual if you want to set up/make coffee before service or during service (I personally feel better if I prep before service)!
**YOU HAVE TO RUN A "TEST POT" OF JUST WATER BEFORE MAKING COFFEE!!!**
Coffee (see instruction sheet in drawer under the coffee maker) typically 2 pots regular and 1 decaf.
If service looks like a “larger” crowd you can make 1 regular pot during soul café.
Treats- usually can be found on top of the soul café cart or on kitchen counter.
At times they may be located in the fridge or freezer,
but we try to let you know if that is the case.
Juice, Milk, & Coffee can be brought to the gathering area on a cart from the kitchen.
You can serve coffee from carafes located underneath island in the kitchen.
Napkins, stirrers, cups, etc should be in the soul café cart. Please make sure the sugar, sweet n low, stirrers, powdered creamer, and napkins are on top of soul café cart to be easily accessible. If something is low you can look in the back kitchen pantry. If you notice something is empty or running low please let Mary or Camilla know.

*CHICKEN NOODLE DINNER*
Thank you, thank you to ALL who helped in some way to make our chicken and noodle dinner a fun weekend, whether it was making noodles, providing chicken, helping to set up, serve, or clean up. We also want to thank those who came to eat and fellowship on Sunday with your PUMC family and for your donations to help support PUMC. We are truly blessed!
Prayer Ministry Team
Brett and Rebekah will be praying in the Library/Lounge 15 minutes before the start of our early service (i.e. at 8:30) and at the Sanctuary Altar immediately after the early worship service. As always, they will be leading times of prayer during and after our 10:45 worship service and at our 525 midweek fill-up on Wednesday evenings (5:30).
Anyone is welcome to come and receive prayer during these times.
We would also LOVE to have more prayer warriors on our team.
Join us as we pray for revival in the lives of our members and in our community!
EASTER LILY SIGN-UP:
The Easter Lily Sign-up sheet is available to you on the table in the Gathering Area. Lilies are $10 each. The last chance to sign-up will be Sunday, April 5th!
Glenn Oertley’s 100th birthday party canceled :(
Because of public and personal health concerns, the March 29th party to celebrate Glenn Oertley’s 100th birthday has been canceled.
Glenn loves getting mail, especially notes. So, in place of a physical party, we hope you’ll shower him with cards and notes to mark the occasion. His birthday is March 28th, but he’d welcome mail whenever he gets it — from whoever is willing to send him mail. (No visitors are allowed inside Evergreen Place, where he lives, and residents are not to leave the building.)

CENTRAL IL BLOOD DRIVE @ PUMC
At our first drive last month, we were able to collect 6 units of blood at the drive. Plus, we had 8 first time donors. The 6 units will help 18 critically ill patients in the hospital. FANTASTIC!
The next drive is scheduled for March 14th. Contact Dani to sign up or click the link below!

UMCOR Sunday: Sunday, March 22nd
Your generous giving to UMCOR is what allows UMCOR to act as the arms and legs of Christ’s church, moving toward the most vulnerable in their darkest days. Convinced that all people have God-given worth and dignity—without regard to race, religion or gender—together we are assisting those impacted by crisis or chronic need. UMCOR will be able to offer aid in Jesus’ name to those who suffer because United Methodists give through UMCOR.
General Conference Briefing: Sunday, March 22nd
Pekin Grace United Methodist Church will be holding a General Conference briefing on March 22nd from 2-4:00pm. Members of the IGRC General Conference delegation will be present and providing information about legislation coming before the General Conference May 5-15 in Minneapolis. All are welcome to attend the briefing. They also plan to post a recording of the briefing to the conference website if you are unable to attend.
Food Pantry Easter Baskets: March 31st and April 2nd
We have been blessed with the opportunity to again offer Easter food baskets with ham, perishables and food staples for the holidays. We will be handing out 27 Easter baskets this year. We will pack boxes after the first service on Sunday, March 29th and hand them out during regular pantry hours Tue., March 31 & Thur., April 2. Anyone interested in helping, please let Gloria or Dani know. If your team, small group or family would like to purchase an item for our baskets (ie: 27 cartons of eggs, 27 gallons of milk, ect.) contact the church office.
