Saints Scoop

Nov. 18-23, 2022

Dear ICCR Community,

This Thanksgiving season, we were asked to support less fortunate families from our community by holding a food drive. We appreciate that so many families sent in food donations and gift cards, with specific items collected by grade levels.

At ICCR, we believe it is vital for our students, who are very blessed, to learn the importance of giving back to the community. In addition, we want to instill in them the importance of supporting others who are less fortunate than themselves.

Thank you to the families and students who participated in this service opportunity.

Best regards,

Mr. Miele

Thanksgiving Luncheon: Tuesday, November 22nd All Lunches

Our annual full-school Thanksgiving PTO Luncheon will return to ICCR on Tuesday, November 22nd. A traditional thanksgiving lunch is served to all LS-8th grade students, faculty, and staff. Students will be provided lunch and an allergy-friendly dessert but should bring their own drink.

I am incredibly grateful to our parents on the committee for their time, creativity, and energy in organizing a truly memorable Thanksgiving Lunch!

I would like to extend a special thank you to the following parents who dedicated their time and resources:

Chontelle Manfedo - Donated the Turkey costume
Carlo Izzo - was gracious enough to wear the Turkey costume
Jacklyne Tasca - Donating the balloon decoration
Leticia Monteiro - Donated runners for the tables & pies for the faculty
Jessica Remillard - Donated additional placemats
Teresa Garris - Donated flower arrangements that will be raffled off to the faculty
Stephanie Toepfer - Donated bins for the decorations
Tania Tasca - in researching the best bakeries in RI that are Nut Free, Gluten Free, and Vegan Facilities. We really wanted the kids with allergies to have a delicious treat!

Marissa Izzo - donated pumpkins.

Lisa Zompa - contributed fall decorations.

Sharon Zickendrath - for coordinating this wonderful and memorable event for our students and donating many festive decorations.

And all our fantastic parent volunteers.

Disclaimer for Desserts:

We have tried our best to use allergen-free facilities, but it is not possible to do so for every allergy. We will provide cupcakes from A & J Bakery a dedicated nut-free and gluten-free facility. We will also provide treats from Wildflour Vegan Bakery, a dedicated vegan faculty. These treats will be individually wrapped and will have the ingredients listed.

**As parents, please use you discretion as to whether or not you would like to provide your own treat/dessert. Thank you.

Nurse's Note

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our school community! We are very thankful to see your children each and every day - they are a blessing!

This week we had another visit from Cali, the therapy dog from the Cranston Police Department. Officers Iacone and DiSano are coming in to see the students weekly, and will also try to attend as many of our school events as possible. When Cali comes into a classroom, it is amazing to watch the children's faces. We are grateful to have this opportunity here at Immaculate. Be sure to check out her pictures on Instagram!

Just a reminder to keep your child home if they complain of not feeling well. With the holidays coming, we hope all our students are able to enjoy the fun activities we will be having. If you ever have any questions, feel free to call or email me any time.

I wish you all a safe and healthy Thanksgiving break.

Take care,

Mrs. Habershaw

School Nurse
