- Have been known to attack, and sometimes consume bears, more so Asian black bears and Ussuri brown bears are the ones they usually eat
- Rarely attack humans or become man eaters unless provoked in the 1st case, or starved in the 2nd
- Have litters of 2 to 4 cubs, or even 6.
- Litters are evenly divided in gender
- Females stay with the mother longer than males and tend to stay in the same general area where they were born and grown up
