Kindergarten
First Grade
We’re excited about our upcoming field trip on the 12th to Gatorland. Please make sure you turn in the permission slip and pay the fee on school pay.
On Friday the first graders enjoyed walking around and seeing the great STEM boards. There were some really great projects!
Fifth Grade
science benchmark
There will be a science benchmark test in March before Spring Break. It will cover a lot of standards. Please review the study guide with your 5th grade student so they are prepared for the test. Students are encouraged to complete at least two Gimkit sessions at home. The Gimkit session has questions from all of the standards that will be tested. Parents, siblings, teachers, and friends can also join in. Practice 5th grade science on Gimkit: http://bit.ly/sciencebmpass. Prizes will be given to the students with the highest percentage correct on the Gimkit assignment.
Sixth Grade
This week the Roman Republic will fall! Julius Caesar says, “Alea iacta est” (the die is cast) and crosses the Rubicon and is named dictator for life (which only lasts a year before stabby-stabby time) Beware the Ides of March! Next week, Rome will transition from a Republic to an Empire. This unit will resume after Spring Break.
Pre-Algebra students are in our last unit of standards. This week we learned all about scatter plots: how to construct and interpret them, as well as describing various aspects of scatter plots. Next week we will learn about frequency tables and relative frequencies. We will then take our final unit test during the week before spring break. 6th grade advanced students are learning about area, surface area, and volume right now. They have been working a lot in class to master those difficult concepts. Next week we will move on to discuss shapes on a coordinate plane. We will take our unit test covering geometry during the week before spring break. Quarter 3 is quickly coming to a close. Please make sure your student is completing all of their work on time and finishing up any late assignments to get them turned in.
