A Message from Our Principal
We prayed the Holy Rosary this morning for the repose of the soul of George H. W. Bush, our 41st President.
Additionally, we talked about Advent and how it’s different than Christmas. We talked about preparing ourselves for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. You should also receive “Advent Preparations” in the Monday Folder. Encourage your children to recommit to praying daily and staying faithful to God’s commandments. God has promised us that He will send His only begotten Son as our gift. We have to slow down, focus, and prepare to greet our Lord when He comes.
Nolan Night at HFCS. Wednesday, December 5, 6:30pm in school library. Parents of middle school students who have questions about our sister school, Nolan Catholic High School, will be able to meet with Nolan’s Principal.
Basketball - 8th grade girls and boys will compete in the Our Lady of Victory Pre-season basketball tournament. Girls game is tomorrow and boys on Wednesday. Go Hornets!
Peace in Christ,
Dr. John Shreve

Pot O’ Gold: LIGHTS, CAMERA, HORNETS
It is almost that time, for our annual Pot O’Gold gala. For new parents, this is our annual fundraiser for our school. The money raised at the event will go towards the shade structure to cover the new multi sport outdoor court area. Save the date for the gala, which will be on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Ridglea Country Club. The official kickoff will be on Monday, January 7, 2019. The parent packets will be sent home on Monday, January 7, 2019 with all the information about the event and how you can help us reach our goal.
Starting today Monday, December 3 raffle tickets will be sent home with your students. Our goal amount for raffle ticket sales is $15,000. If each student sells 4 books we will reach our goal. Raffle ticket sales will end on Friday, February 22, 2019. Tickets will be sent home with each student. Any tickets not sold need to be returned to the office.
Students receive prizes for the raffle ticket they sale. Prizes will not be handed out until we have the kick off. Don’t worry, we will keep track of all raffle ticket sales as they are turned in for the month of December and all students will receive their prizes.
If you have any questions about Pot O’ Gold, raffle tickets, how you can help, you can contact Maria Orand at hfmom2015@gmail.com
LIGHTS, CAMERA, HORNETS - WINE PULL
We are in need of wine. At the POT O’GOLD gala we have what we call the WINE PULL. Taking part of the wine pull is very simple: A person buys a numbered cork and in turn wins the corresponding bottle of wine. To stock our reserve of wines for the wine pull, we are asking for your help by donating a bottle (or two) of wine. The minimum value of each bottle is $15.00.
We will have someone in the carpool line on Friday December 7 and Friday December 14 at pick up and drop off to collect your donation. Please fill out the donation form. We need this information for TABC.
If you have any questions please contact our wine chairs 2019 Sophie Kriss at sophie.kriss@gmail.comor Nelda Cacciotti at nelda1973@hotmail.com.
