Little Free Library
In an effort to promote literacy and the love of reading, Commissioner Scarpelli and the Department of Public Works have installed a LITTLE LIBRARY outside Spring Garden School. I am sure you all noticed. These free book exchanges are found worldwide and are designed to build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity and wisdom across generations. There are over 32,000 Little Free Library book exchanges around the world, bringing curbside literacy home and sharing over 1 million books annually. Our Little Free Library is for everybody -- neighbors, friends and future students of Spring Garden School. Anyone can use it. That is why we want to take care of it. Leave a book and take a book. If you see something you would like to read, take it. Leave a book in return. Look inside and see who gave it; who else has read it. Share it. Return it to any Little Library or pass it on to a friend. Support reading for children, literacy for adults, and libraries around the world.
PTO Sponsored Assembly on December 15
