Northshore Christian Academy's Early Learning Center

A note from Holly Leach

I am truly thankful for all of our parents, staff and children in the ELC. God has blessed us greatly by the beautiful little ones He has brought to us.

I want to share with you that Joy Kang has been hired as the ELC Director. Joy will begin on November 19th. After reviewing about 10 applicants, three final applicants were selected. Joy was interviewed by a leadership team. The final interview included a teacher rep (Roshni), Mary, Melissa, Diane and myself. We believe God has called Joy to his role. She has an infectious faith in God, love for children, understanding of licensing and passion to support teachers.

Joy has a BA degree in Sociology and minor in Psychology. She also has an AA in Early Childhood and another AA in Early Childhood Special Ed. Joy has taught Pre-K, preschool and toddlers. She currently works at a large Christian childcare center in Seattle and has owned her own childcare center years ago. In her current center, they are connected with our licensor, Frances, which is a great benefit.

Initially Joy will be called “Associate Director” as she is in the training process. Diane Winningham has been appointed to oversee the ELC starting next Monday. She will add the ELC to her duties as principal of K-2 division. Diane will add “ELC Executive Director” to her principal title. You will see Diane actively involved in the day-to-day, staff meetings, team building and organization. She believes God has called her to add the ELC to her duties. She jumps in with great excitement and energy.

Sarah DuCette will continue to be a part of our ELC, assisting classes with music and working in classes. We are so thankful for Sarah to be part of our ELC in her new role as we expand our staff. Sarah has built the strong foundation and is now moving into the important role of being child – centered in our program, currently with the toddlers.

Let me know if you have any questions. Continue to pray for God’s blessings on this important ministry.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Holly Leach

Superintendent

Big picture

ELC Christmas Program

We would like to invite all ELC families to our Christmas Program on December 3rd at 6:30pm.

Our littlest ones will join the stage with one parent to help us finish the program with our last song. The rest of the children will be performing for the first portion of the program. The Toddlers will be shown with their very special costumes on the screen as we traditionally do.

We can't wait to see your children perform on this very special night!

There will be a live webcast as well, if you are unable to attend. http://www.northshorechristianschools.org/livewebcast
