Mystery Guest visits Mrs. Correa's First Grade Class
Ms. Rule, Axel's Gigi, visited Mrs. Correa's First Grade classroom as our Mystery Guest. She is a retired elementary teacher. She shared a true family story about a black panther and then taught us about kindness. She left us supplies to make our own class kindness book! Thanks for visiting us, we can't wait to meet our next Mystery Guest!

Translation Services
DO YOU SPEAK A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE?
We partner with Argo Telephonic Translation Services to help us better communicate with families that speak a language other than English. We can set up an interpreter during parent conferences in addition to using a translator during phone calls. If you, or someone you know would benefit from this service, please let your child's teacher know, or contact Dr. Doss.
Lunch Visitor Sign Up Genius, November 13 - November 17 (no 16th available)

District Information for Families
Are you ready for some c-o-m-p-e-t-i-t-i-o-n? The District Spelling Bee is coming up on Saturday, Dec. 9th, at Park Hill High School. The competition is open to fifth through eighth-grade students. We hope you’ll encourage your student to participate! District Bee will take place in the Park Hill High School Auditorium.
The winner of the District Bee competition will move on to the Regional online qualifier, hosted by Mid-Continent Public Library in February. The top 35 qualifiers will move on to the Regional Spelling Bee in March. And the winner of the Regional Bee will travel to the Washington D.C. area to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May!

Repeated Information for Families
Attendance
Please help your student(s) be successful by arriving to school on time each day. The arrival time for English Landing is 8:50am. Prior to that time, there is no adult supervision for students. Students are tardy if they arrive after 9:10am. Please contact the school office by 9:00am if your child will be absent.
Birthday Treats
Students may bring a birthday treat or favor to school to share with their classmates, as long as they come from our list of treats that contain none of the eight (8) major allergens - milk, wheat, egg, soy, peanut, tree nut, fish and shellfish.
Thank you for understanding that all classroom treats must come from this list, because we do not have the staff capacity to check for allergens that could threaten the health of some students. Please bring birthday treats ahead of time (two hours after the start of school, at the latest).

Park Hill Clothing Center
PTA Needs You!
The PTA of the Park Hill School District runs a clothing center that provides free, gently used clothing and new socks and underwear to district students.
The PTA Clothing Center serves all Park Hill School District students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and the PTA asks you to bring some proof that you are enrolled in a Park Hill school. This could be a student ID, bus pass, dated letter from a principal or social worker, class schedule or enrollment form.
Donations are welcome at the Clothing Center. Please make sure your donations are clean, in good condition and bagged in kitchen-sized bags that the volunteers can lift.

Park Hill Spotlight Nomination
Our employees are the reason we are so successful here in the Park Hill School District, and we would like to recognize them for all they do for our students.
That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee.
Nominations start in September
