Groundbreaking for Caballero Park Renovation

The groundbreaking event for the Caballero Park renovation will be held on Sept. 28 at 9:30 a.m. at 525 Fiesta St. in Patio Park. Please join AZ Rec and the Town of Clarkdale staff and Council for the ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m.


Park renovations are being funded by a Community Development Block Grant through the Arizona Department of Housing.

Last Concert of the Season

On Sept. 23 Tommy Rocks the Beatles will be the final Concert in the Park! Come sing along to your favorite Beatle’s songs on Saturday, Sept. 23, with Tommy Anderson and his band, Tommy Rocks, as they perform from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. in Clarkdale Town Park (1001 Main St., Clarkdale).


Lead singer, Tommy “Rocks” Anderson is an acoustic rock musician who has performed thousands of shows throughout the country. Known for decades as a guitarist and singer, he is well known for his wildly popular Beatles shows, as well as his solo acoustic performances. Tommy covers hundreds of songs from the entire Beatles catalog & beyond, including John, Paul, George & Ringo’s solo careers. This seven-piece band has deep roots in the Verde Valley and guarantees a great show. See you there!

Coffee with a Cop

Don't miss your chance to chat with members of the Clarkdale Police Department at their annual Coffee with a Cop event.


They will be at Violette's on Oct. 4 from 8-10 a.m.

Town Wide Clean-up

Looking to clean up your yard? Cleaning out your garage? Here is a little help! The Town will host a clean-up event on Oct. 27 and 28, from 8 a.m.– 5 p.m. Dumpsters will be located at 375 South Broadway (turn at road marked as WWTP Road).


Dumpsters will be monitored and can accept bagged trash, household appliances that have never contained refrigerant, furniture, yard trimmings, mattresses, box springs, and electronics. All lumber and brush/trimmings must be cut to three (3) foot lengths.


Please take recyclables to the Town Recycling Center on Main Street adjacent to Clarkdale-Jerome School.


Items that will be refused: Loose trash, hazardous materials, junk cars, tires, concrete, dead animals, medical waste, ammunition, fireworks, explosive materials, and commercial/industrial trash.


This event is open to all Clarkdale residents. Town Staff may refuse any load if deemed unacceptable.

  • Sept. 12: A resident of Centerville reported the theft of her medication and credit cards to Officer Montijo. The investigation is ongoing.

Town Council Meeting Wrap Up

The Town Council met on Sept. 12 in the Clark Clubhouse and took the following actions:


  • Approved an agreement with Retail Strategies for economic development recruitment services.
  • Ratified a grant submission for a sidewalk and bike lanes along Clarkdale Parkway.
  • Approved a Deed of Gift for items to be given to the Clarkdale Historical Society and Museum.
  • Approved a memorandum of understanding with the Nature Conservancy for a stormwater and effluent study.

Gem and Mineral Show

On Sept. 22 – Sept. 24 come explore the fall Clarkdale Rocks – Gem and Mineral Show! Friday and Saturday the event runs from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday the show is open from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.


Find rare gems, jewelry, fossils, geodes, daily raffles, a kids' corner, and an educational fluorescent mineral display. Free entry for the whole family. This event is hosted by the Mingus Gem and Mineral Club and the Town of Clarkdale. Learn more at mingusgem.club.

Save the Date!

Clarkdale Downtown Business Alliance will host the second annual “Trunk-or-Treat” on 10th Street from 4:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. on Halloween. Participants enter on First South and 10th Street, first come first served and space is limited. Decorate your car and bring packaged candy to hand out. Contact Jessie at 928-274-9691.

SAVE THE DATE for Clarktoberfest!

Clarktoberfest is back on Saturday Oct. 7. What is Clarktoberfest? It's Clarkdale's unique event, a fall festival that is a street fair/concert/beer garden and a fun time for all. The Clarkdale Downtown Business Alliance began this tradition in 2014 and they expect this ninth year to be another success. It will be a fun day with live music, food, drinks, and cornhole! New contests to enjoy participating in or watching include a:

  • Stein-holding contest
  • Yodeling contest
  • Lederhosen and Dirndl costume contest
