The Lion's Share Newsletter
November Edition
From the Desk of Mr. Miller:
Dear Parents & Guardians,
I hope the November edition of our newsletter finds you well! I appreciate you all hanging in there with us during a crazy last week of October. With the weather, two snow days, and Halloween, it was an exciting week to say the least!
I would personally like to thank all of you that attended our October Parent/Teacher conferences and Title Family Event. We had a great turnout and I am incredibly grateful for your partnership. I know your student's teacher is also thankful to have you in attendance for the conferences as well.
With the cold weather approaching, I would just like to remind you about our "Green Flag" days for when students are dropped off in the morning. On Green Flag days, students will enter the building through the front of the school in order for them to come in out of the cold and/or weather. According to district policy, the temperature for students to come in during our Green Flag days is 15 degrees. However, we will issue a Green Flag day if the temperature is 20 degrees or below. We will put up the green flags near the bus drop off and near the front of the school for drop off as well. Also, if you haven't "liked' us on Facebook, please be sure to do so! The second I receive a call for a delay or closure, I will send it out to you via Facebook and the D11 Loop. You will also find other pictures and information on our Facebook page as well. Just click the link at the bottom of this newsletter under "Contact Information."
Finally, our new visitor system has been installed in the office, but is not live yet. We have been told that the new district sign-in system will be live very soon. I just want to send another reminder that once it is live, all visitors will need to have their Colorado ID/Driver's License scanned prior to entering the building. Again, this will be a district wide process for all visitors into all buildings. From my understanding, elementary schools are the first to implement the system, with middle and high schools to soon follow.
I really am thankful to be here at Grant serving our students, our staff, and all of you! As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me! I hope you are able to spend some quality time with friends and family during this upcoming holiday season!
