Switchboard Presents: REDSHIFT
October 10, 7:30, Center for New Music, SF
Works by Michael Gordon, Andrea Mazzariello, and Ryan Rey.
Join REDSHIFT for a set of the post-minimalist, driving, bad-ass chamber music we're known for. We're thrilled to present the world premiere of Blackened Chamber by Andrea Mazzariello. We're equally as thrilled to present Ryan Rey's Turning Pages, commissioned in 2014. And, because you love it, and we love that you love it, Michael Gordon's ACDC.
Sharing the bill with Aaron Novik's Cosimo Lilly.

"Redshift is not normal, you understand, but that's a good thing." -SF Classical Voice
Founded in 2007, REDSHIFT is committed to performing contemporary music with “dazzling technique and out-of-box creativity” (Lucid Culture NY). With home bases in multiple cities, the ensemble draws on vast experience performing all types of classical music—from the traditional to wildly experimental—and enthusiastically presents new works in traditional and nontraditional settings. Audiences rave about the ensemble's ability to ignite their interest in contemporary music through thoughtful programming and presentation. The ensemble regularly collaborates with many composers and sound artists, and strives to perform new, adventurous, or unusual music in a context that all listeners can understand and enjoy.
