Global Voices: Digital Storytelling

The California International Studies Project Presents...
Storytelling is an honored practice in cultures worldwide, and a skill that opens doors to self-awareness, compassion and curiosity. In the classroom, studies of story and the development of storytelling techniques often focus on oral tradition and writing. This workshop guides k-12 educators through the study of digital storytelling and skill development using photography and videography.
- Learn how to use digital storytelling resources to engage your students in project based learning (PBL)
- Align global competencies to standards-based instruction

This program is free for teachers, and sponsored by the California International Studies Project (CISP) at Sonoma State University and Global Oneness Project.
September 24th, 8:30-3:30pm at Sonoma State University
- Instructional teams are encouraged to attend together- there will be time and space for collaborative design of interdisciplinary, project based learning
- Lunch and refreshments provided
- CEUs through San Diego State University for a fee

Global Oneness Project
The Global Oneness Project offers free multicultural stories and accompanying lesson plans for high school and college classrooms. Their award-winning collection of films, photo essays, and articles explore cultural, social, and environmental issues with a humanistic lens. Aligned to National and Common Core Standards, their curriculum content contains an interdisciplinary approach to learning and facilitates the development of active, critical thinking.
